Our client is building a finance-first, all-in-one operating system for a highly complex and mission-critical industry in Latin America. Their platform unifies payments, billing, collections, core workflows, and operational processes into a single, scalable system used daily by thousands of organizations and families across the region.

They are now looking for a Head of Product Design to build, lead, and professionalize Design as a true system-level discipline across a multi-product ecosystem.

This is a foundational leadership role with high visibility and real ownership.

About the role

As Head of Product Design, you will be responsible for elevating design from execution to strategy — shaping how products are conceived, built, scaled, and adopted.

This role goes far beyond UI.

You will:

  • Lead design across end-to-end systems, not isolated screens

  • Connect customer experience with operational reality and automation

  • Build and own a production-grade design system (not just in Figma, but in code)

  • Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, AI/Data, and GTM teams

  • Be co-accountable for adoption, usability, and real-world outcomes

Reporting directly to the Chief Product & Technology Officer, youll play a key role in defining the long-term platform vision and how design enables scale, trust, and AI-driven innovation.

What youll lead

  • Build and scale the Design function, principles, and operating model

  • Establish strong discovery, critique, and validation practices

  • Design for complex workflows, internal tools, and admin-heavy systems

  • Create and maintain a shared, scalable design system across products

  • Collaborate directly in the codebase with engineers (React-based stack)

  • Unify experiences across historically separate platforms

  • Coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing design team

  • Partner on AI-enabled, data-driven, and automation-focused experiences

What were looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years in leadership roles

  • Proven experience building or rebuilding a design function from scratch

  • Strong background in design systems and scalable UX architecture

  • Hands-on experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams

  • Comfort contributing to design systems in code, not only design tools

  • Ability to influence, lead change, and operate in ambiguity

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Fluent Spanish; English is a strong plus

Nice to have:

Experience in fintech, edtech, SaaS platforms with complex workflows, post-acquisition environments, or AI-powered products.
