Business Development Representative (BDR)

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will be a "thought challenger" tasked with disrupting the status quo and driving our sales pipeline growth. We are looking for a social seller and creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to redefine how businesses approach their payment infrastructure.

The basics:

  • Have at least a potential of 20+ users (to ensure the sales reps were looking for large enough opportunities).
  • Have no fundamental red flags or deal-breakers
  • The BDR clearly generated (no poaching from inbound leads or other SDRs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Pipeline Generation: Proactively identify and engage potential high-value clients through outbound strategies including LinkedIn, email, phone calls, and creative outreach.
  • Be a Thought Challenger/Thought Leadership: Understand market pain points and challenge prospect mindsets to demonstrate how our solutions drive significant business impact.
  • Master Social Selling/Social Selling Mastery: Leverage LinkedIn and other digital platforms to build professional credibility, nurture relationships, and convert leads.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives/Strategic Collaboration: Qualify leads thoroughly to ensure a seamless handoff to Account Executives for closing.
  • Analyze and Optimize/Process Optimization: Track outreach performance and utilize A/B testing to refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay informed on fintech trends and competitive insights to effectively educate prospects.
  • Think Outside the Box/Innovative Outreach: Use data-driven and "outside the box" approaches to open new business opportunities.

  • Ability to influence decision-makers by articulating the value proposition effectively.
  • Uses strong negotiation and consultative selling skills to engage prospects.
  • Writes compelling and personalized email sequences, LinkedIn messages, and cold call scripts.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Works closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and Product teams to align on strategy.
  • Understands how to share insights and feedback to improve messaging and approach

Ownership & Accountability

  • Takes full responsibility for pipeline health and quota achievement.
  • Constantly tracks personal performance and proactively seeks improvement.
  • Thrives in a role where autonomy and results-driven execution are key.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Technical background preferred, such as Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, or lead generation, preferably within Fintech, SaaS, or a startup environment.
  • Communication: Exceptional persuasive communication and storytelling skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Sales Tools: Proven experience with CRM tools (Salesforce), automation tools, and social selling techniques.
  • Mindset: A data-driven approach to performance combined with a growth mindset that thrives on autonomy and accountability.
  • Strategic Prospecting: Ability to identify and nurture high-quality leads while managing multiple stakeholders.
