Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive, experienced Team Leader Recruitment Consultant to lead a team of consultants specialising in the recruitment of healthcare professionals within Complex Care /Mental Health. The successful candidate will play a dual role: actively managing their own recruitment portfolio while guiding and developing a small team of consultants to deliver high-quality placements across supported living, residential, and community-based services.

This role requires a strong background in healthcare recruitment, exceptional people leadership skills, and a deep understanding of either complex care or mental health

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Performance

  • Supervise and support a team of recruitment consultants, including setting targets, conducting 1:1s, and monitoring KPIs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentorship to junior team members to ensure performance and professional development.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ethical recruitment practice.
  • Lead daily or weekly team meetings to review performance, troubleshoot challenges, and share insights.

Recruitment & Client Management

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for your own portfolio of clients, including sourcing, screening, shortlisting, and placing qualified healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships within the complex care or mental health sector.
  • Understand and anticipate client needs, delivering bespoke recruitment solutions in a timely and compliant manner.

Operational & Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate candidate records, compliance documentation, and internal systems.
  • Work closely with compliance and onboarding teams to ensure speed to market while maintaining 100% compliance.

Strategy & Growth

  • Contribute to business development strategies by identifying growth areas and market trends in either complex care or mental health.
  • Assist in setting monthly and quarterly team targets and developing plans to achieve them.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in healthcare recruitment, with at least 2 year in a team lead or senior consultant role.
  • Proven success in recruiting within complex care or mental health sectors.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and safeguarding requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing recruitment team.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Results-driven with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and ATS platforms
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare frameworks and NHS workforce policies (where applicable).
