Due to continued growth and client demand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Field Care Supervisor.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Care Supervisor to support the safe and effective delivery of care in the community. The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing care staff, conducting client assessments, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in line with CQC regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities 

1. Client Care & Risk Assessments

       Conduct face-to-face assessments for new clients in their homes.

       Complete required risk assessments, including:

  • Moving & handling
  • Medication
  • Environmental hazards
  • Lone working
  • Create detailed, person-centred care plans based on clinical and social needs.
  • Review and update care plans at least every 3 to 6 months or after any change in condition.

2.   Staff Supervision & Development.

  • Conduct regular spot checks to assess quality of care and adherence to care plans.
  • Carry out formal staff supervisions and annual appraisals.
  • Complete competency assessments in areas such as:
  • Medication administration
  • Infection control
  • Manual handling
  • PEG/tracheostomy care (if applicable)
  • Support new staff during induction and shadowing periods.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance.

  • Monitor compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and internal quality frameworks.
  • Ensure all records (digital and paper-based) are complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
  • Report and document any incidents, near misses, or safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintain oversight of MAR charts, daily visit logs, and care documentation.

4.   Operational & On-Call Support.

  • Provide day-to-day support to care staff and clients in the field.
  • Respond to missed calls, complaints, and emergency issues.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, dealing with out-of-hours queries and unplanned staffing needs.
  • Work collaboratively with coordinators and the care manager to maintain service continuity.

5. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement.

  • Liaise with families, GPs, district nurses, and social workers where needed.
  • Attend care reviews, safeguarding meetings, and staff briefings.
  • Support the Registered Manager with audits, CQC inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.

 6.   Requirements

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
  • Previous experience in a care supervisor, senior care worker, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of care planning, risk assessments, and CQC compliance
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and participation in an on-call rota
  • Full right to work in the UK. 

Desirable:

  • Experience in complex care (e.g. tracheostomy, PEG feeding, spinal injuries)
  • Knowledge of electronic care management systems (e.g. PASSsystem, CarePlanner)
  • Medication train-the-trainer qualification or manual handling trainer qualification
