Due to continued growth and client demand, we are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Recruitment Consultant to take ownership of a warm SEND desk based in our Birmingham office.
Job Summary:
As a Senior SEND Recruitment Consultant, you will manage and grow a high-performing desk, supplying SEND teachers, teaching assistants, support staff, and specialist roles (e.g. Behaviour Mentors, SENCOs) to mainstream and specialist schools across the Midlands. You'll be responsible for 360° recruitment: from client acquisition and candidate attraction to placements and account management.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a proven track record in education or healthcare recruitment, looking to specialise or grow within the SEND sector.
Candidate Management
- Source, screen, and interview qualified SEND professionals using job boards, internal database, and social media
- Match suitable candidates to live vacancies and send CVs promptly
- Conduct thorough vetting and compliance checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and REC standards
Placement & Compliance
- Fill short-term, long-term, and permanent vacancies
- Manage timesheets, pay queries, and candidate onboarding
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding and legal requirements
Team Contribution & Leadership
- Support junior consultants or resources as needed
- Lead by example in hitting KPIs and demonstrating best practices
- Contribute to the culture of the team and share market insights and opportunities
What Were Looking For
- Proven experience as a Recruitment Consultant (2+ years preferred), ideally in education, SEND, or healthcare recruitment.
- Excellent understanding of the SEND education landscape, roles, and compliance processes
- A confident communicator who can build trust and rapport with clients and candidates
- Highly organised, proactive, and resilient under pressure.
- A strong team player with leadership potential.
- Full UK driving license (preferred) client visits may be required.
