Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in line with Muve Healthcare Irelands growth strategy. This individual will focus on building relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare, social care, property, and commissioning sectors while identifying new service locations, funding streams, and commercial partnerships. This role will report to the Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying New Business Opportunities:
- Proactively seek out and identify new business opportunities across healthcare, social care, property, and commissioning sectors.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to pinpoint service gaps and areas of strategic growth, developing plans to exploit these opportunities.
- Engage in research and networking to uncover potential acquisition targets, partnerships, or service development prospects.
Building and Managing Stakeholder Relationships:
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare commissioners, local authorities, private landlords, care providers, and other strategic partners.
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are being met, cultivating long-term partnerships.
- Attend networking events, conferences, and forums, acting as a representative of Muve Healthcare, and cultivating new professional relationships.
Developing and Pitching Proposals:
- Lead the development of business cases, proposals, and presentations for new service offerings such as supported living or healthcare services.
- Tailor proposals to address the specific needs and challenges of each potential partner or customer, ensuring a compelling case for collaboration.
- Present proposals to senior leadership, key stakeholders, and potential clients, ensuring clarity and alignment with organisational goals.
Collaborating with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with internal departments, including clinical, operational, and estates teams, to assess the feasibility of new sites or service models.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of a new service offering from clinical requirements to site logistics are fully considered.
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
- Regularly monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify potential risks and opportunities for business growth.
- Conduct in-depth market research to understand unmet needs and emerging trends in healthcare, social care, and related sectors.
- Use research insights to shape business strategies and inform decision-making, ensuring that the company stays ahead of market demands.
Managing a Business Development Pipeline:
- Track and manage a pipeline of new opportunities, ensuring that potential deals are progressing as planned and are prioritised effectively.
- Provide regular updates on the status of the pipeline to senior leadership, including expected revenue, timelines, and any potential roadblocks.
Collaborating with Finance on Service Viability:
- Work alongside the finance team to model the financial viability of new services or projects, calculating ROI, risk, and profitability.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies for new services, ensuring alignment with market conditions and profitability targets.
- Ensure that all proposed new ventures are financially sound, sustainable, and in line with the company's overall growth objectives.
Reporting to Senior Leadership:
- Regularly update the senior leadership team on business development activities, opportunities, challenges, and successes.
- Provide detailed reports on pipeline performance, service development progress, and any new or emerging opportunities.
- Offer insights and recommendations for strategic adjustments or new directions based on market feedback and business performance.
Job Requirements:
- Leadership/Management Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role, ideally within a business development or sales environment. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive team performance.
- Sales Experience: Proven experience in generating new business and sales within a competitive environment, particularly in healthcare, social care, or property sectors. Experience with contract negotiations, closing sales, and managing client relationships is essential.
- Experience: 4-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in healthcare or social care services.
