We are looking for a highly skilled Head of Complex Care (Clinical) to provide strong clinical leadership and ensure our patients receive the very best standards of care.

The Role:
As the Head of Complex Care (Clinical), you will oversee clinical governance, lead a team of nurses, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will be the key clinical decision-maker, driving service quality and supporting the business in maintaining a safe, effective, and person-centred care model.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and supervise nursing and clinical teams across complex care services.

  • Conduct clinical assessments for new and existing care packages.

  • Develop, review, and implement person-centred care plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding policies, and clinical governance standards.

  • Oversee training, competency assessments, and professional development of nursing staff.

  • Act as the clinical lead for ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, spinal injuries, neurological conditions, and other complex care requirements.

  • Provide clinical escalation support and guidance for complex cases.

  • Audit care provision and implement improvements to maintain the highest standards of patient care.

  • Work collaboratively with commissioners, families, and multidisciplinary professionals.

Requirements (Essential):

  • Registered Nurse (Adult or Child Branch) with valid NMC pin.

  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, with at least 3 years in complex care, community nursing, or critical care.

  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership or management, including line management of nurses.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in:

    • Tracheostomy care and ventilator management

    • PEG/enteral feeding

    • Seizure management and rescue medication

    • Catheter care

    • Spinal cord and neurological conditions

  • In-depth understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding, and clinical governance.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with families, professionals, and commissioners.

  • Strong organisational, auditing, and risk assessment skills.

  • UK-based experience working within community or complex care settings.
