Position Overview
The Med Surg/Cardiac Care RN Director is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the Med Surg and Cardiac Care units. This individual will oversee all aspects of departmental performance, including patient care delivery, staff development, budget management, and compliance with regulatory standards. The position plays a key role in advancing the hospitals mission of quality, safety, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the department in alignment with facility goals, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care.

Develop and implement operational systems that support seamless patient flow across the continuum of care.

Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure optimal utilization of resources.

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance care coordination and patient outcomes.

Oversee staff recruitment, retention, and professional development, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability.

Evaluate and recommend new technology, processes, and programs to enhance clinical performance.

Lead departmental education programs for both patients and staff to promote clinical excellence and safety.

Conduct and support research and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Nursing (required)

Active RN or APRN license (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or instructor level) required within 30 days of hire

Minimum of 5 years of recent acute care nursing leadership experience

Proven success in managing teams and operations in a Med Surg or Cardiac Care environment
