Location: San Antonio, TX Area
Compensation: $110,000 – $137,000

Position Overview

The Director of Surgical Services will provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight for the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This individual will play a key role in staff development, clinical excellence, and day-to-day surgical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop surgical services staff, including scheduling, performance management, and ongoing education
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow, high-quality care, and strong patient outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, ensuring adherence to physician orders and established care standards
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, goals, and process improvements
  • Participate in quality initiatives including infection control, case management, utilization review, and performance improvement
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and operational efficiency
  • Manage departmental budget, including staffing and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards
  • Address and resolve staff and patient concerns in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications

  • Current RN license (Texas or compact state)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical experience in surgical services
  • Prior leadership or management experience required
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS required
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams
