Job Role

The Ocean Freight Sales Assistant Manager is responsible for driving business development and account expansion within the ocean freight segment, focusing on large trade-lane opportunities and strategic B2B customers. The role combines commercial solution selling, tender management, pricing simulation, and customer relationship management to secure long-term logistics partnerships.

The position also plays an important role in coordinating between clients, internal operations, and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and high-quality logistics service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and acquire new B2B customers within the Ocean Freight and Logistics segment.
  • Manage and expand relationships with strategic and high-volume clients.
  • Conduct pricing simulations and manage tender processes.
  • Develop tailored logistics and freight forwarding solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate export/import shipping activities and documentation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and trade requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal operations and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support customer meetings, negotiations, and business presentations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Direct Sales, Business Development, or Account Management within Freight Forwarding, 3PL, or Ocean Freight industries.
  • Experience selling logistics and supply chain solutions under a B2B business model.
  • Currently at Supervisor or Assistant Manager level.
  • Strong understanding of Ocean Freight operations and international trade lanes.
  • Experience managing tenders, pricing simulations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Knowledge of export/import documentation and international shipping regulations.
  • Professional fluency in English for business communication and negotiations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Proactive, target-oriented, and able to work independently.
