Job Role

The Commercial Manager – Nickel Industry will lead business development, channel expansion, and strategic commercial activities within Indonesia’s nickel mining and smelting ecosystem. The role requires deep industry expertise, strong market intelligence capabilities, and extensive existing relationships across miners, smelters, traders, and industrial buyers.

This position will play a critical role in driving commercial growth, negotiating high-value transactions, monitoring global nickel market trends, and strengthening partnerships between Indonesia operations and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial and marketing strategies for nickel products and mineral commodities.
  • Expand business networks with mining companies, smelters, trading houses, and industrial off-takers.
  • Lead strategic negotiations, contract discussions, and long-term partnership agreements.
  • Monitor nickel market trends, LME pricing movements, export regulations, and supply chain risks.
  • Prepare business analysis reports, market intelligence updates, and commercial forecasts for management.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Coordinate with overseas headquarters regarding pricing strategies, supply planning, and market developments.
  • Drive market expansion initiatives and identify new commercial opportunities within the nickel ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in nickel, mining, smelting, commodity trading, or mineral processing industries.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managerial, commercial, or strategic business development roles.
  • Strong existing network within nickel mining, smelting, refining, or commodity trading sectors.
  • Solid understanding of nickel supply chains, export regulations, smelting operations, and LME pricing mechanisms.
  • Experienced in commercial negotiations, strategic partnerships, and commodity market analysis.
  • Familiarity with Indonesia–China nickel trade and international commodity business practices.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and business communication skills.
  • Fluent Mandarin is mandatory, with professional English proficiency.
