Job Role

The Customs Clearance Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end import and export compliance, customs clearance operations, and regulatory governance across the organization's supply chain activities. Acting as the company's primary customs authority, this role ensures all cross-border shipments comply with Indonesian customs regulations while serving as one of the authorized legal signatories for import and export documentation.Working closely with government authorities, customs officials, logistics partners, and internal business stakeholders, the successful candidate will lead customs audit activities, oversee tariff classifications, manage regulatory risks, and develop compliant customs strategies that support efficient international trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end customs clearance operations for import and export activities, ensuring full compliance with Indonesian customs regulations.
  • Act as one of the company's authorized legal signatories for customs documentation, including export declarations (PEB) and other import/export documents.
  • Develop and implement customs compliance strategies, policies, and operational procedures to support efficient international trade.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, government agencies, and relevant regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth customs operations.
  • Lead customs audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews while coordinating responses to audit findings and government inquiries.
  • Oversee tariff classification (HS Code), customs valuation, rules of origin, and other customs-related regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations, international trade policies, and import/export legislation, translating regulatory updates into business processes and compliance initiatives.
  • Assess customs risks, identify operational bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize compliance exposure and shipment delays.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, logistics, procurement, legal, finance, and regional headquarters to ensure seamless cross-border operations and regulatory compliance.


Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
  • PPJK Certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Customs Clearance, International Trade, Logistics Management, or Supply Chain Management with significant exposure to import and export operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience handling global trade compliance, customs governance, or customs leadership within multinational organizations.
  • Strong experience in ICT, telecommunications, technology, electronics manufacturing, FMCG, or other high-volume multinational industries.
  • Deep understanding of Indonesian customs regulations, customs clearance procedures, HS Code classification, customs valuation, bonded facilities, trade controls, and import/export compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade frameworks, including WTO, WCO, rules of origin, and global customs practices.
  • Proven experience leading customs audits, regulatory inspections, compliance reviews, and government liaison activities.
  • Strong analytical capability to interpret regulatory changes and translate them into practical operational policies and compliance solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, cross-functional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly resilient, adaptable, and capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced multinational business environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is mandatory due to frequent communication with regional headquarters, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and international stakeholders.
