Role Overview
The Quality Lead – Internal Audit & ISO 14001 will be responsible for driving Mati Carbon's quality and audit framework, with end-to-end ownership of ISO 14001 compliance, internal quality audits, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
This role will work closely with an external consultant for technical guidance and team capability building, while independently managing internal audit planning, process reviews, documentation, compliance tracking, and closure of audit findings across functions. The role requires strong analytical thinking, structured execution, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to strengthen operational discipline, process consistency, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
ISO 14001 Ownership & Compliance
- Own the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 within the organization
- Maintain and update ISO-related documentation, policies, procedures, registers, and records
- Ensure audit readiness and compliance across operational and support functions
- Coordinate with external consultants, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders for audit preparation and closure of observations
- Monitor progress on ISO-related actions and support timely implementation of required controls
Internal Audits (Operations & Quality)
- Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual internal audit plans across field operations and support functions
- Conduct process and operational audits to assess adherence to SOPs, internal controls, and quality requirements
- Review operational activities such as farmer enrollment, soil sampling, deployment, survey execution, and data capture
- Prepare structured audit reports with observations, evidence, and actionable recommendations
RCA & CAPA Management
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for audit findings and recurring operational issues using structured methods
- Define, track, and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in coordination with relevant teams
- Ensure timely closure of actions and review effectiveness of implemented measures
- Identify recurring trends and support long-term process improvements
Audit Tracking, Reporting & Governance
- Maintain trackers for audit observations, RCA, CAPA, and compliance actions Provide regular updates to management on audit findings, risk areas, and closure status
- Support governance reviews and ensure proper documentation and traceability of records
Data Quality & Process Improvement
- Review operational data, reports, and supporting records for completeness and accuracy
- Identify inconsistencies and work with teams for timely corrections
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen quality, reduce errors, and improve execution discipline
Team Collaboration & Capability Building
- Work with teams to strengthen awareness of quality standards and process expectations
- Support implementation of consultant-led recommendations and training initiatives
- Promote a structured and improvement-oriented quality culture across functions

Travel to field locations for audits and process reviews is required on a periodic basis Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Environmental Science or a related field and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor certification is preferred
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in quality management, internal audits, or ISO-related roles
- Hands-on experience in ISO 14001 implementation, compliance management, or external audit coordination
- Strong experience in RCA, CAPA, and internal audit execution
- Experience in operations, field-based programs, manufacturing, sustainability, or process-driven environments is preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001 requirements, audit processes, and documentation controls
- Ability to independently manage audit plans and compliance trackers
- Strong analytical, reporting, and process improvement skills
- Proficiency in Excel and audit documentation/reporting tools
