Location: Delhi 

We are looking for a Legal Manager to lead day-to-day legal and compliance across Mati's operations. This role will focus on execution, tracking, and problem-solving—ensuring the business runs smoothly from a legal and regulatory standpoint.

You will work closely with internal teams and external counsel to manage ongoing compliance, support transactions, and handle cross-border elements where required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage ongoing compliance across multiple entities
  • Ensure adherence to FCRA, FEMA, labour/employment laws, and other applicable regulations
  • Build and maintain compliance trackers, filings, and documentation

2. Contracts & Day-to-Day Legal

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts (vendors, partners, consultants, etc.)
  • Support routine legal documentation and operational requirements
  • Work closely with teams to resolve day-to-day legal issues quickly and practically

3. Cross-Border & Structuring (as required)

  • Support cross-border transactions, contracts, and fund flows
  • Assist with structuring and regulatory considerations across jurisdictions

4. External Counsel & Coordination

  • Work with external law firms on specific matters
  • Coordinate across finance, operations, and partnerships teams to ensure compliance

Who You Are

  • Strong commercial acumen and practical problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and reliable in execution
  • Able to operate independently or manage small teams

Requirements

  • LLB (mandatory); CS is a plus
  • Currently with or previously worked at a reputed law firm
  • Experience handling compliance across multiple entities
  • Familiarity with FCRA, FEMA, labour/employment laws, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with cross-border elements is a plus
