About the job Truck Shop Mechanic
Max Rieke & Brothers, Inc, is seeking a skilled Truck Shop Mechanic to join our maintenance team responsible for servicing all DOT on-road vehicles in our fleet. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with a wide range of vehicles, including diagnostics, preventative maintenance, tire replacement, engine repair, and electrical system troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of DOT on-road vehicles
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
- Replace and repair tires as needed
- Perform general engine diagnostics & repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Ensure all work meets DOT and company safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with fleet supervisors and other maintenance staff as needed
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge and hands-on experience with light, medium, and heavy-duty truck maintenance
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform diagnostics and repair work on various mechanical and electrical systems
- Must provide own tools as outlined in the Teamsters Local 541 union agreement
- CDL (Commercial Drivers License) preferred but not required
- Must be a current member of Teamsters Local 541 or willing to join upon hire (union membership is required)
Compensation & Benefits:
