Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Field Metrology Technician (Laser Technician) to deliver precision measurement and alignment services at industrial job sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys fieldwork, frequent travel, and supporting critical industrial equipment.

What You'll Do

• Perform field metrology services including laser tracking, laser alignment, and precision measurement
• Conduct inspections, alignments, and dimensional verification of industrial equipment
• Set up, operate, and maintain laser metrology equipment and related software
• Analyze measurement data and prepare accurate technical reports
• Collaborate with field service, machining, and operations teams
• Interface directly with customers in a professional, technical manner
• Follow all safety and site-specific procedures
• Travel extensively to customer locations (60%)

Required Experience & Skills

• 3–5 years of hands-on field metrology experience

• Strong knowledge of laser trackers, alignment systems, and precision measurement tools

• Experience in industrial environments such as:

  • Power generation

  • Oil & gas

  • Mining

  • Heavy industrial manufacturing

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances

• Comfortable working independently in the field

• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

• Willingness to travel extensively

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with metrology systems such as Leica, FARO, API, or similar

• Background with rotating equipment, turbines, compressors, or large assemblies
• Prior field service or industrial outage experience
