Mechanical Engineer – Division Leader
The Opportunity
The Mechanical Engineer – Division Leader will play a key role in both technical delivery and team leadership, with clear potential for long-term growth and ownership.
Leadership & Team Oversight

Lead and supervise 2–3 mechanical engineering professionals
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight
- Support resource planning, workload distribution, and team development
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of mechanical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls
- Collaborate with architectural, electrical, and structural teams on complex projects
- Oversee projects ranging from small facilities to large campuses and high-value construction programs
- Ensure energy-efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant designs
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination
- Contribute to marketing, business development, and client relationship efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT actively pursuing PE
- Ability to obtain Kentucky PE licensure within 6 months (or by comity in other states)
- 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical design within an engineering consulting environment
- Proven experience with HVAC and plumbing design on large-scale projects
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with lifecycle cost analysis, HVAC modeling, and simulation tools
Professional Skills

- Client-facing experience and business acumen preferred
