Role Overview
R&D Catalysis Laboratory Technician supports experimental reactor campaigns and laboratory operations focused on catalytic processes and renewable fuel development. The role involves hands-on work with reactor systems, sample analysis, and maintaining accurate data and safe lab practices.
Key Responsibilities
Reactor Operations & Experiment Support
- Assist in the setup, operation, monitoring, and shutdown of lab and pilot-scale reactors
- Support catalyst handling, feed preparation, and safety checks
- Collect, label, store, and track samples (liquid, gas, solid)
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment
Analytical Testing & Lab Support
- Conduct sample analysis using standard lab techniques (e.g., GC-MS, titration, moisture analysis)
- Prepare reagents, standards, and calibration materials
- Assist with instrument calibration and maintenance
- Review data for accuracy and report inconsistencies
Data Management & Documentation
- Record experimental conditions, observations, and results accurately
- Maintain organized lab records and databases
- Support the preparation of reports and data summaries
Lab Operations & Inventory
- Monitor and maintain inventory of chemicals, consumables, and PPE
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization
- Keep workspaces clean, safe, and audit-ready
Equipment & Logistics
- Support preventive maintenance and calibration schedules
- Maintain logs and documentation
- Coordinate sample shipments and related paperwork
Safety & Team Collaboration
- Follow safety protocols, SOPs, and compliance standards
- Use PPE and promote safe lab practices
- Work collaboratively with technical teams
Additional Support
- Assist with bioreactor processes and general lab testing when required
- Provide occasional extended or weekend support
- Perform other assigned laboratory tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 0–3 years of relevant lab experience
- Exposure to reactors, catalysis, or analytical techniques preferred

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift to 20 lbs
- Capable of performing routine lab tasks and maintaining regular attendance
