Environmental Project Testing Technician
Location: Farmingdale, NY (Service area includes NYC and surrounding areas, up to 200-300 miles)
Position Type: Full-time, Field and Office Work
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Testing Technician with 1-3 years of experience in environmental air quality compliance testing to join our team. This position involves both field and office work, including equipment maintenance, reporting test results, and data reduction for reports. The role requires a strong knowledge of EPA testing methods and the ability to work independently in the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Experience Level: 1-3 years in environmental or emissions stack testing
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform emissions air quality stack testing and ensure compliance with EPA testing methods, including Methods 1–5, 7E, 10, 18, 25A, and 29.
- Operate and maintain Thermo CEMs; prior experience with Thermo CEMs is a plus.
- Use 320 FTIR for emissions analysis; FTIR experience is a plus.
- Conduct equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Monitor emissions from sources such as boilers and engines to ensure regulatory compliance for industrial facilities, treatment plants, and related operations.
- Compile, analyze, and report test results for detailed regulatory reports.
- Perform fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and regulatory compliance reporting.
- Travel to various job sites, primarily within the NYC area, with occasional travel within a 200–300-mile radius of Farmingdale.
- Perform work at heights and lift up to 45 pounds.
- Drive the company van and pull a lab trailer to job sites.
Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in air quality or industrial stack testing.

Familiarity with EPA testing methods (1-5, 7E, 10, 25A, 18, 29).

Ability to work from heights and lift up to 45lbs.

OSHA 10-hour certification (required).

Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company van and pull a trailer.

Strong computer skills and experience with data reduction and reporting.

QSTI certification (preferred but not required).

Ability to work independently in the field and manage time effectively.

Compensation:
Competitive salary based on experience. Range of $85,000-$100,000 annual
