Position Overview

The Facility Technician Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of facility systems through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fabrication work. The position operates on a 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule, five days per week, including required weekend availability, totaling 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on equipment and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical (low and high voltage), mechanical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
  • Support electrical installations and piping; basic HVAC knowledge preferred.

    Weld and fabricate components, including sanitary stainless-steel applications.
  • Maintain and repair lighting systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Safely operate industrial shop tools and equipment.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors on facility projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Accurately complete required documentation and electronic records.

  • Foster teamwork and professional communication with colleagues and leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with stainless steel sanitation and prior work in regulated production or processing environments preferred.
  • At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or completion of a 2-year technical training program.
  • Skilled in welding, cutting, and metal fabrication.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

  • Familiarity with VFD troubleshooting and adjustments.

  • Ability to identify electrical hazards and use proper tools and PPE safely.

  • Certified or able to obtain certification to operate powered industrial trucks.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation.

  • Must provide own tools for general maintenance tasks.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent exposure to industrial conditions such as noise, dust, heat, humidity, and outdoor weather.
  • Regular standing, bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor facility settings.
