Position Summary

A VP of Accounting is needed to step into a key leadership role during a period of executive transition. This position will lead and reshape the accounting function while supporting the buildout of a new executive team. The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Team & Structure

  • Oversees 9 direct reports across U.S. and international teams
  • U.S. team includes hybrid/on-site property accountants
  • Additional teams based in the Philippines, Latin America, and India
  • Total company headcount of approximately 249 employees
  • The majority of accounting operations are handled offshore

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and transform the accounting department
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial insights to executive leadership
  • Operate with speed and decisiveness in a dynamic environment
  • Develop, mentor, and grow team members
  • Improve processes and enhance workflow clarity
  • Act as a strategic and operational partner to leadership

Candidate Profile

  • 10–12 years of experience preferred
  • Background at Senior Controller or VP Accounting level
  • Strong experience in multifamily property accounting
  • Proven leadership experience; international exposure is a plus
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and action-oriented
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, direct communication culture
  • Must be based in the Seattle area

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience with Yardi is required
