Superintendent

The Superintendent is an experienced field leader responsible for managing all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion. This role leads crews and subcontractors, ensures safety and quality standards, coordinates schedules, and delivers projects on time and within budget. The Superintendent serves as a primary on-site representative and builds strong working relationships with owners, consultants, inspectors, and trade partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all field construction activities
  • Lead and motivate field personnel and subcontractors
  • Develop and maintain weekly work plans and support the master schedule
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Manage self-performed work and monitor labor productivity
  • Order materials, equipment, and coordinate inspections
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and promptly address hazards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite
  • Collaborate proactively to resolve construction challenges

Reporting & Authority
  • Reports to the General Superintendent on personnel and production matters
  • Reports to the Project Manager on scheduling, execution, and project strategy
  • Enforces jobsite safety programs
  • Plans and sequences work to meet production goals and schedule milestones
  • Supervises, coaches, and mentors foremen and field crews
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of construction field supervision experience
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage diverse teams and personalities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Primavera, etc.) preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of SWPPP, LEED, and material reuse is a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor jobsite environment

  • Frequent bending, walking, kneeling, and lifting (40+ lbs.)

  • Valid driver's license required
