Architectural Project Manager
Position Summary
The Architectural Project Manager is responsible for leading municipal and commercial projects from early design through completion. This role manages all project phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, and project closeout. The position serves as the primary liaison between design teams, clients, and construction professionals to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations. While prior design experience is required, the role primarily focuses on project leadership, coordination, and team mentorship.
Project Types
- Municipal facilities (public libraries, fire stations, police stations, city halls, administrative buildings, correctional facilities)
- Commercial projects (non-residential only)
Core Responsibilities
- Manage municipal and commercial architectural projects from concept through completion
- Coordinate schematic design, design development, construction drawings, and administration phases
- Serve as liaison between architects, clients, and construction teams
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members
- Support collaboration across project stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program
- Registered Architect with 10+ years of professional experience
- Current or previous experience in a Project Manager role
- Background in commercial or municipal projects (no residential experience considered)
- Prior architectural design experience
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid work model (two remote days and three in-office or job site days after initial onboarding period)
- Site visits required, depending on project needs
- Minimal overnight travel, except for periodic training
