Overview

Were seeking an experienced AWS Developer to support large-scale platform modernization initiatives involving application containerization, infrastructure automation, and integration across distributed systems.
This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing cloud-native solutions that improve scalability, resilience, and performance for high-volume, business-critical platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong AWS engineering experience with solid DevOps and automation skills, comfortable working in fast-moving hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud-native applications and services using AWS technologies (ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, CloudFormation/Terraform).

  • Lead containerization and migration of existing applications (ADF, print/distribution, onboarding platforms, and legacy workloads) to AWS.

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment deployments.

  • Collaborate with integration and product teams to enable API-first architectures (REST, JSON, XML).

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK).

  • Support infrastructure-as-code (IaC) adoption and cloud cost optimization.

  • Contribute to cloud governance and security alignment with ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 principles.

  • Partner closely with PMs and architects to ensure alignment between development, operations, and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in AWS development and deployment (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, S3, RDS, EC2).

  • Strong background in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD automation (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar).

  • Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (Python, Node.js, Java).

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Familiarity with networking, IAM, VPC design, and AWS security frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience supporting on-prem to cloud migrations.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to interface with non-technical stakeholders.

  • AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification preferred.

 Salary Package:

$ 150,000.00 - 165,000.00 (US Dollar)

Duration: 612 months, extension aligned to broader platform migration roadmap.
Location: Hybrid Chicago metro (onsite 23 days/week during delivery milestones).

Compensation:

  • W2: $95-$120/hour (DOE)
  • Conversion Target: $150K-$165K base + bonus potential
