St. Francis Medical Center, a 384-bed acute care hospital with a Level III NICU in Lynwood, California, is seeking a Maternal–Fetal Medicine Specialist to join a well-established high-risk obstetrics and perinatology program serving Southeast Los Angeles County. This opportunity offers a highly consultative practice model with strong referral demand in a densely populated service area.
The program has provided advanced maternal–fetal care to the community for more than 30 years and is the only MFM center within a 10-mile radius, supported by robust hospital resources and a large network of referring OB providers.

Practice Overview
The Maternal–Fetal Medicine program receives referrals from approximately 50 regional OB providers for:

High-risk pregnancy consultation
-
Advanced obstetric imaging
-
Prenatal diagnosis
-
Genetic counseling
-
Antepartum fetal monitoring
-
Transfer of high-risk obstetric care
The practice is AIUM-certified (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) for Detailed/Targeted Obstetrical Ultrasounds and holds credentials through the State of California Genetics Disease Branch to perform genetics consultation and prenatal diagnosis for high-risk pregnancies.
Patient care is supported by the advanced clinical resources at St. Francis Medical Center, including:

Level III NICU (29 beds)

36-bed Adult ICU

NICU clinical affiliation with Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC)

Multidisciplinary maternal–fetal care team
The practice is supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 professionals, including ultrasound technologists, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
What You'll Do
-
Provide a mix of outpatient and inpatient MFM care, predominantly outpatient

Conduct approximately 20 outpatient clinic encounters per day
-
Interpret approximately 30 outpatient ultrasounds and/or antepartum fetal testing cases

Perform and interpret approximately 15 Labor & Delivery ultrasound exams

Manage 1–2 inpatient consultations or follow-ups daily

Provide remote and bedside consultations as needed

Practice primarily at the St. Francis campus clinic in Lynwood, with a secondary clinic located approximately 25 minutes away

What We're Looking For

Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Maternal–Fetal Medicine

Interest in a consultative, high-acuity obstetric practice

Strong collaboration with OB providers and hospital teams
Compensation

Compensation targeted at the 50th–75th percentile (National or California benchmarks)
