Overview:

As a First Aid Training Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating First Aid, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and Fire training and development as required by the organization. The position demands a commitment to staying current with all First Aid, OHS, and Fire education, training, and development of best practices. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for promoting safety, well-being, and workplace health while assisting in educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate First Aid, OHS, and Fire training sessions as required by the organization.
  • Ensure that training content aligns with the latest best practices in First Aid, OHS, and Fire education.
  • Keep abreast of developments in First Aid, OHS, and Fire training methodologies.
  • Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training programs to stay current with industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance and participant performance in both first aid and occupational health components.
  • Regularly assess training effectiveness and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement in First Aid, OHS, and Fire training.
  • Ensure that all training activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training sessions, including attendance records and participant evaluations.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in First Aid, OHS, and Fire education.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications, such as HPCSA registration, Assessor and Moderator certifications, and Fire Fighter 1 and 2 qualifications.

  • Minimum BAA qualification with current HPCSA registration (preferable).
  • Certified and registered Assessor and Moderator.
  • Fire Fighter 1 and 2 qualifications (Advantageous).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in First Aid and Firefighting training.
  • Computer literate.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to travel.
