Job Openings Completions & Workovers Engineer

About the job Completions & Workovers Engineer

Job Purpose

  • Plan, technically manage, and facilitate completions and workover activities that are fully aligned with the Group technical and SHE standards and provide fully qualified completions engineering and workover support for technically complex development projects. Progress projects from planning and concept selection through to engineering design and safe operational execution.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - I

  • The Completions and Workover programs are highly complex, involving challenging operations and a diverse mix of activity / well types. Some examples of the challenges include (1) multiple parallel projects with dynamic schedules, tight schedule constraints, and uncertainty in sequencing of rig activities;
  • (2) diverse mix of activities and well designs (e.g., spare slot vs. new wellhead platforms, monobore vs. OBB well designs, standard vs. sub-horizontal (SHZ) well architecture;
  • (3) brownfield work conducted among increasingly congested facilities and depleted reservoirs increasing risk and complexity;
  • (4) complex interfaces among organizations and increasing requirements for planning and administration;
  • (5) new wells in expansion areas are longer and more complex than historical wells;
  • (6) coordination of rigs with changing contracting strategy may lead to additional new rig start-ups for any of the projects;
  • (7) driving service quality from all service partners.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Perform analyses/calculations, provide surveillance, and act as a focal point for continuous improvement by implementation of technology transfer and application of best practices.
  • Plan, develop, and write Completions and Workover programs ranging from mechanical completions, perforation, and stimulation and well testing.
  • Provide technical support of completions and workover operations offshore and onshore.
  • Ensure wellbore and equipment integrity during completions and workover operations.
  • Prepare comprehensive Completions and Workover risk Management strategies covering areas of safety & health, environmental impacts, emergency preparedness, well control procedures, and relief well contingency plans.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Assist with procurement activities (pre-qualifications, tendering process, and bid evaluations) with focus on long lead-time and critical items (wellheads, trees, completion equipment, etc.).
  • Assist with QA/ QC activities (audits, technical reviews, inspections, specifications) with focus on long lead-time and critical items (wellheads, trees, completion equipment, etc.).
  • Implement Monobore and Big Bore technology in conjunction with drilling engineering and shareholder technical resources, including wellheads, liners, and related equipment.
  • Assist management in areas of performance measurement and continuous improvement by facilitating communication and teamwork.
  • Evaluate Completions and Workover performance, recommend effective modifications to enhance/improve the process, and ensure execution is in line with intended plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 6+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience providing stewardship of service contracts including (drilling rigs, offshore and onshore, drilling equipment, services, tangibles, and consumables). Experience with H2S well designs and safety practices ideally in offshore completions and workover operations.
  • Specialized expertise level required for critical activities and work scope including (well control and well control equipment, perforating operations, acid stimulation design and operations, wireline operations, coiled tubing operations, wellhead, tree, and downhole equipment, pressure pumping operations, completion design and equipment, land rig and jack-up rig and barge operations, fishing and milling operations, H2S operations).
