About the job QA/QC inspector - OES
Job Purpose
Conduct QA/QC inspection of materials, maintenance repairs, modifications
and replacements of static equipment, process piping and storage tanks and
its spares as per Company specifications, codes and standards. Coordinate
and attend to destructive and non-destructive inspections at various
locations i.e., plant and non-plant areas, warehouse, contractors or vendors
workshop, ensuring alignment with operational requirements for new
projects and expansions.
Key Job Accountabilities
1. Perform inspection of all material or equipment such as valves, piping, gaskets, fittings, heat exchangers, pressure vessels etc., and reviews the certificates with respect to purchase orders, codes, standards and specifications requirement. Ensure that these inspections
align with operational requirements for new projects and expansions.
2. Provide support to Engineer for development of new welding procedure for Company/contractor, including witnessing tests. Maintain and update welding procedure qualification record/specification and welder qualification records for Company, ensuring
they meet the operational needs of new facilities.
3. Coordinate and provide support to Engineer/end user for the periodic inspection of gas cylinder and portable tanks. Maintain the certificate/record and database to ensure operational readiness and safety.
4. Conduct or witness various non-destructive/destructive test on materials to assess conformity to requirements, ensuring that materials meet the operational standards for new and expanded facilities.
5. Perform required QA/QC services for the planned and unplanned work during shutdowns and ensures required work permits
6. Attend shutdown meetings related to Maintenance jobs and participates in site visits for deciding workscope and pressure test waiver proposals to align with operational goals.
7. Review Contractors maintenance repair procedures (quality plan, inspection and test plan, QA/QC procedure, WPS, welder qualification record, etc.) related to modification, repair and replacement jobs or new project work executed by Maintenance as per approved EMOC.
8. Perform QA/QC activities (Welding/NDT/heat treatment/pressure test/glass reinforced plastic (GRP)/fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP)/composite wrapping etc.) as per specifications and contract requirements for plant maintenance activities on Company
equipment or facilities.
9. Support closing of all Maintenance Work orders related to QA/QC activities in SAP and achieve timely completion of all inspection reports and uploading in Meridium to maintain operational records.
10. Perform audits on suppliers and contractors quality assurance and control systems, and prepare and submit audit report to Engineer for review to verify that all suppliers and contractors meet the operational standards required for new and expanded facilities.
Qualifications
Higher National Diploma (HND) or bachelors degree in
mechanical engineering.
AWS-SCWI or CSWIP 3.2; or equivalent.
Professional certification in API 510, 570, 653 (as applicable);
Attended relevant courses and attained certification as:
ASNT/PCN Level-2 in UT, MT, PT, RT or Advanced NDT.
Knowledge and/or Experience
4 years experience in material inspection, fabrication, welding,
NDT, testing and painting/coating activities in oil and gasindustry.
Good knowledge in international codes and standards (ASME,
AWS, ASTM, API, NACE/ISO).
