Qualification:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (or similar).
  • Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry, of which 6 years should be in Offshore Pipeline Engineering.
  • Proficiency in use of Pipeline Engineering analysis software such as AUTOPIPE / CAESAR, SAGE, Orcaflex, ABAQUS is desirable.
  • Experience in all project phases (i.e., feasibility study/ concept optimization, FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up).
  • Experience in detailed design of Lateral buckling, walking, crossings, on-bottom roughness, routing, riser and spool-piece design, ECAs, installation analysis is desired.
  • Experience in subsea umbilical and associated controls systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Pipeline Interface disciplines including Structural, Geotechnical, Materials and Corrosion, Flow Assurance and Pre-commissioning.
  • Ability to identify and utilise, relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Pipeline Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
  • Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Pipeline Engineering activities for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
  • Create, develop and review work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
  • Support Engineering Department to review update and apply Company  Standards and company amendments to external standards.
  • Single point technical responsibility and accountability for all assigned projects, within Pipeline Engineering area of authority.


  • Able to operate within broad guidelines set by established Company procedures and guided by Engineering Codes and standards.
  • Responsible for acceptance of new vendors proposed during project phase.
  • Responsible and accountable for technical integrity and safety of designs.
  • Requires minimal guidance and instruction.
  • Assess and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers to perform the work, within Pipeline Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Has a responsibility for ensuring the Company obtains value for money and compliance with budget requirements.
  • Assess suitability of requested deviations from Company and International Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Considering magnitude of the number and size of projects undertaken, it is essential that every action is undertaken to minimize the Companys exposure to risk and maximize revenue generation.
