I. RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Act as a key partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing expert financial insights to guide strategic decisions and long-term business planning.
- Lead the financial strategy for the company, including forecasting, financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives and market conditions.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to optimize the execution of business strategies, ensuring that financial plans support company expansion, product innovation, and operational efficiency.
2. Financial Operations & Governance
- Oversee the Finance & Accounting functions to ensure the highest standards of financial management, compliance, and internal controls.
- Streamline financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting speed, leveraging technology and automation to reduce manual tasks and enhance decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance while maintaining effective risk management and safeguarding company assets.
3. Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, aligning capital requirements with business expansion plans and scientific research initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key investors, including venture capital, private equity, and institutional investors, while enhancing the company's appeal to potential stakeholders.
- Lead investor communication efforts, delivering compelling financial narratives and business insights that resonate with a wide range of investors, ensuring transparency and alignment with company goals.
- Manage and supervise the Investor Relations team, ensuring that key messages are communicated consistently across all channels and fostering investor confidence in the company's vision and strategy.
4. IPO Strategy and Execution
- Take the lead on preparing the company for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), including conducting a thorough IPO readiness assessment and identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external advisors (legal, accounting, underwriters) to ensure a seamless IPO process, from the preparation of regulatory filings to the successful listing of the company on the stock exchange.
- Monitor market conditions and investor sentiment, adjusting the IPO strategy to ensure the company maximizes its potential value and attracts the right investors.
5. Financial Risk Management & Compliance
- Establish and enforce robust financial governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, including local and international standards.
- Lead corporate tax strategy, ensuring all tax filings are accurate and compliant with applicable regulations while optimizing the company's tax position.
- Oversee the internal audit process to identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the integrity of financial systems and controls.
6. Executive Team Collaboration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and other members of the executive team, contributing to strategic discussions on growth, market opportunities, and risk management.
- Play a key role in shaping the company's culture, fostering a collaborative, performance-driven environment while supporting leadership development within the finance team.
- Align the financial vision with the overall strategic goals of the business, ensuring the company is well-positioned for long-term success in the biotechnology sector.
II. QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or executive role.
- Proven expertise in financial strategy, fundraising, IPO processes, and investor relations, ideally within high-growth sectors, the biotech or Healthcare.
- In-depth knowledge of capital markets, regulatory compliance, financial reporting standards, and tax strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-making at the highest levels.
- A global perspective on financial management and experience working in international or multinational environments is highly preferred.
