The role:

Sololearn is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial-minded Site Reliability engineer to join our team and work alongside talented engineers who work hard to change the lives of our learners. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects on a global scale. You will work with a talented team that is small and nimble, one who is proud of what they have built, but yet are eager to continue to improve it for our learners.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated self-learner who cares about our customer’s experience, the quality of the app and service and the quality of the code. You will have a say in decisions about the product design, architecture, and development timelines. You have a proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement and performance bottlenecks. You embrace ownership and want to understand our users, to help them reach their educational goals. To work with us means to:

• Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical scientific discipline.
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, C#,Go, Ruby, and/or JavaScript.
• Industry experience with distributed storage technologies like Azure Blob, NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn).
• Industry experience with Cloud Computing Services using Azure or GCP.

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse groups of stakeholders.
