A leading building services consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects across sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, and public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design of building services systems from concept through to construction stage.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Review and approve designs, reports, specifications, and drawings to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to project meetings and presentations.
  • Oversee the work of junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with relevant legislation, standards, and sustainability targets.
  • Participate in site inspections, commissioning, and project handover processes.

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in the design of mechanical systems for buildings.
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership with a relevant institution (e.g., CIBSE, Engineers Ireland).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, public health systems, and renewable technologies.
  • Familiarity with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Hevacomp, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working on healthcare or large-scale public sector projects.

  • Knowledge of low-energy and sustainable design solutions.

  • Project management experience.
