Business Controller for Ship Management

Position Overview

Meratus Group seeks a high-calibre Business Controller for Ship Management to manage the financial performance of the business by providing accurate reporting, financial analysis, and strategic support in Ship Management. This position is responsible for monitoring financial outcomes, ensuring budget compliance, and supporting business leaders in data-driven decision-making

Key Responsibilities

Financial management

  1. Analyze and ensure preparation of financial performance analysis, forecasts, and budgets on periodical basis (monthly, quarterly, yearly).
  2. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations which could affect business key financial results.
  3. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
  4. Controlling revenue and cost by checking completeness and accuracy of revenues and Cost items.

Financial analysis and support for Business Leaders

  1. Support profitability analysis and improvement through Revenue and Cost optimization (saving) strategies (GOL)
  2. Support operational and commercial leaders in pricing and margin analysis.
  3. Support process improvements in business unit financials recognition and reporting
  4. Provide recommendations for cost optimization and revenue driver to increase business growth.
  5. Support business strategic development thru financial / feasibility studies proposal under standardize indicators.
  6. Ensure and maintain deliverable of key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

Audit and Compliance

  1. Enforce internal controls to prevent fraud.
  2. Support internal and external audits with relevant cost documentation

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in budgeting and reporting
  • Experience in Shipping company would be an advantage
