Position Overview:
This position will be responsible for planning and maintaining the ship's cargo so that it can be loaded safely and precisely. This position will also doing the administrative reports and ensuring the operational activities run according to the standard procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Cargo Planning & Stowage:
- Create and optimize load plans to ensure safe, efficient, and balanced cargo stowage.
- Input and update loadlist data in planning software.
- Adjust cargo distribution based on vessel stability, draft, and deadweight capacity (DC cert).
- Ensure compliance with SWL (Safe Working Load) for ship cranes and lifting equipment.
- Plan rigging and lifting for bulk/heavy cargo to prevent operational delays.
- Operational Monitoring & Coordination:
- Monitor cargo operations in real-time across all ports to avoid discrepancies.
- Coordinate with external stakeholder (terminals , agencies, and port authorities) for berth availability and schedules.
- Track vessel schedules vs. actual arrivals/departures and update stakeholders.
- Verify ROB (Remaining On Board) conditions and advise on cargo adjustments.
- Dangerous Goods (DG) & Safety Compliance:
- Review and approve DG cargo submissions in Unicorn system following IMDG regulations.
- Ensure hazardous materials are stowed according to safety and segregation rules.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of load plans, final stowage, and cargo manifests.
- Generate reports on vessel performance, load factor accuracy, and schedule adherence.
- Communicate deviations or risks to the Liner Operation Manager for decision-making.
Requirements:
- Having 2-3 years of sailing experience as a 3rd officer at a minimum (ANT Graduate)
- Familiarity with ship stability calculation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Bahasa and English.
- Placement in Head Office, Surabaya.
