Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to head our Bunkering & Fleet Efficiency Center. This role will be responsible for overseeing all bunker operations and driving fuel efficiency initiatives across the Meratus fleet. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize fuel costs while ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all bunkering activities across the fleet.
- Develop and implement company-wide fuel efficiency programs.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve vessel fuel consumption performance.
- Coordinate with fleet and operations teams to align on efficiency goals.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and fuel quality standards.
- Provide leadership to the team and foster a high-performance culture.
- Act as the subject matter expert on marine fuels and fuel efficiency strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the maritime industry, with a strong focus on bunkering and fleet fuel efficiency.
- Must have prior office/shore-based managerial experience.
- Proven experience working with cargo, container, or tanker vessels.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing fuel efficiency programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate to Surabaya.
- Able to transition from specialized vessel environments to cargo vessel operations.
