Responsibilities

  • Bunker Procurement:
    • Assist to negotiate and secure competitive pricing for marine fuels from suppliers.
    • Assist to develop and maintain strong relationships with fuel suppliers, traders, and brokers.
    • Monitor market trends and fuel prices to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Coordinate the logistics of fuel delivery, including scheduling, transportation, and storage.
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of bunkers to vessels at various ports.
    • Manage inventory levels and anticipate demand to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Oversee the quality of marine fuels, ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO 8217).
    • Conduct regular inspections and testing of fuel samples to verify quality and specifications.
    • Address and resolve any quality-related issues or disputes with suppliers or customers.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all bunkering operations comply with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
    • Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry best practices.
    • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Provide accurate and timely information on fuel availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
    • Prepare regular reports on bunkering activities, including fuel consumption, costs, and savings.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management for optimizing bunkering operations.
