Position Overview
Meratus Group seeks a high-calibre and experienced Business Development Analyst to support business development initiatives including organic (greenfield investment) and inorganic (M&A) growth.
This role require strong background in market research, data analysis, corporate finance, business/ potential investment analysis, project/ stakeholder management, and transaction/ investment execution.
This role is based at our corporate headquarter in Surabaya.
Key Responsibilities – You will be tasked with a variety of organic and inorganic projects.
For Business Development Analyst,
Your key responsibilities in organic (greenfield investment) projects will include:
- Research on the potential industry:
- Market size and growth
- Supply and demand
- Competitive landscape
- Location and infrastructure of the potential investment's site
- Labour and socio-economic
- Regulatory and legal
- Monitor market intelligence and mining and maintaining selected market database
- Develop financial models and business cases for the investment project
- Support investment execution and post-investment monitoring
And your key responsibilities in inorganic (M&A) projects will include
- Potential target screening based on criteria inline with the group's growth strategy
- Investment evaluation:
- Analysis, including business, financial and tax, operational, and legal, of the potential investment
- Valuation of the potential investment
- Support transaction document review
- Negotiation support
For Experienced Business Development Analyst,
Your key responsibilities in organic (greenfield investment) projects will include:
- Project/ stakeholder management
- Review the research and the financial models and business case of the investment project
- Investment execution
- Post-investment monitoring
Your key responsibilities in inorganic (M&A) projects will include
- Project/ stakeholder management
- Review on the potential target screening, the investment evaluation and lead on the deal structuring
- Lead transaction execution:
- Due diligence coordination
- Transaction document review
- Negotiation support
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CMA) are highly valued
Experience and Technical Competencies
- Minimum 2 years, for Business Development Analyst, and 4 years, for Experienced Business Development Analyst, of experience in big4 advisory service, consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, or business development
- Experience in shipping or logistics industry is an additional advantage
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (spoken & written)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint
- High attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to communicate efficiently
