Business Improvement Officer
About the job Business Improvement Officer
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the progress of ongoing business improvement projects and strategic initiatives across various mining departments (Operations, Finance, HR, and Supply Chain).
- Maintain project dashboards, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and escalate potential bottlenecks or delays to the Manager.
- Organize and facilitate cross-functional alignment meetings, ensuring all project stakeholders are on the same page.
- Synthesize complex findings into high-quality, executive-ready presentations (PowerPoint) and brief memos for senior leadership.
- Assist in reviewing existing business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at both the head office and mine sites.
- Identify operational redundancies and propose structured, data-driven solutions to improve efficiency.
- Creates and identifies a roadmap for improvements
- Execute tactical tasks and special assignments directly requested by the Manager or Executive Board on short notice.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management, or a related quantitative field from a reputable university.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of professional experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
- Ability to communicate in a structured manner and effectively, with all stakeholders, including senior leaders, both verbally and in writing, in English and local office language(s)
- A self-starter mindset with high curiosity and a strong drive to learn mining operations rapidly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented
- Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative and qualitative thinking and analysis
- Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Possesses a strong sense of responsibility
- Willing to travel to site(s)
