Summary:

You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of hazardous (B3) and non-hazardous waste, ensuring all operations align with regulatory requirements and company standards. You will play a crucial role in managing permits, driving waste minimization strategies, and supervising contractor and Joint Venture (JV) activities to maintain the highest level of environmental excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process for hazardous (B3) and non-hazardous waste. Ensure all related permits—including Temporary Storage Permits (TPS B3), Hoarding Permits, Third-Party Transportation Permits, and Processing/Utilization Permits—strictly comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective hazardous and non-hazardous waste minimization strategies across the site.
  • Directly oversee the daily activities of contractors and joint venture (JV) partners to ensure their operations fully comply with the company's environmental standards and protocols.
  • Actively identify, propose, and implement opportunities for improving environmental compliance within the site operations.
  • Maintain a detailed, up-to-date understanding of all local and national environmental laws, regulations, and industry best practices applicable to the nickel processing site.
  • Maintain accurate registers and documentation for tracking compliance improvements and audit readiness, specifically supporting government environmental assessment programs such as PROPER.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in environmental management, specifically handling B3 and non-B3 waste within the nickel mining, metallurgy, or nickel processing industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Indonesian environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Hands-on experience with PROPER preparation and compliance tracking.
  • Proven ability in auditing and managing contractors/third-party vendors.
  • Valid certification in Hazardous Waste Management (Sertifikasi Pengelolaan Limbah B3) or Pengawas Operasional Pertama (POP) is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, excellent analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
