Summary:
This role is responsible for comprehensive financial management and analysis for a group of companies, with a particular focus on the mining sector. Key responsibilities include preparing and consolidating annual budgets and forecasts, as well as building and reviewing life-of-mine financial models for all existing sites and new projects. The position involves supporting project teams in financial model development to optimize results and assisting with fundraising activities.
The successful candidate will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial and operational performance data for the group. They will also be responsible for preparing all necessary documentation for quarterly reports and other financial disclosures required by relevant stock exchanges. This role requires extensive liaison with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including operations teams, accountants, legal counsel, investor relations, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Support all sites and projects in the preparation of annual budgets/forecasts and provide a consolidated group financial model.
- Building/reviewing life-of-mine financial models for group/holding, all sites, and new projects.
- Support project teams in developing financial models to evaluate new projects and support them to optimize financial results.
- Assist in fundraising activities.
- Ensure the correct and timely delivery of monthly operational performance, accounting, and finance information for the group.
- Prepare all required information for quarterly activity and financial reports and any other financial reporting information for stock exchanges where the company is listed.
- Liaise with operations, accountants, lawyers, investor relations, banks, credit rating, financial experts, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial due diligence, corporate finance, and/or restructuring roles, ideally within advisory firms, Big 4, banks/securities firms, or corporations.
- Strong expertise in financial analysis, due diligence, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in report writing, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to or an interest in the nickel mining sector will be beneficial, as the role involves work related to the industry.
