About the job Safety Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure Health & Safety (OHS) compliance and performance across all operations and site.
- Implement and continuously improve standardized Health & Safety systems, policies, and procedures
- Provide expert guidance and support to site management, project teams, and contractors on OHS matters
- Monitor, analyze, and report Health & Safety performance, including leading indicators and incident data
- Lead and manage incident reporting, classification, and investigation processes, including serious incidents
- Plan and execute Health & Safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the organization
- Develop and implement internal and external audit programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Lead emergency response preparedness and ensure effective implementation across sites
- Design and coordinate Health & Safety training and awareness programs to support operational teams
- Conduct regular site visits to support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and manage the Health & Safety team to achieve organizational safety objectives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties, including contractors and regulatory authorities, to drive a strong safety culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Processing, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Health & Safety roles within mining, construction, petroleum, or processing industries
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a managerial level role, preferably in site-based operations
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety systems, including technical, operational, and administrative principles
- Proven capability in conducting complex incident investigations
- Experience in performing safety and risk-based inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders
