Main Accountability
The Associate Director is primarily accountable for the strategic management of the EB department. Key to success is the ability to oversee complex policy renewals, lead regional initiatives, and ensure operational excellence through rigorous quality assurance and compliance. You will manage resources effectively to improve overall company performance and deliver informed, data-driven recommendations to top management.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Improve operational systems, processes, and policies to support regional management reporting and long-term organizational planning.
- Lead local and regional initiatives, including market research and the development of new partnerships to expand the EB footprint.
- Enhance the efficiency of support services through functional improvements and cross-departmental coordination.
- Technical Support & Portfolio Management
- Provide high-level technical oversight for policy renewals and contract assessments to ensure alignment with global standards.
- Negotiate with insurance and reinsurance carriers to achieve optimal technical and financial results for a diverse, global client base.
- Manage involvement in large or sophisticated claims to protect the interests of both the client and the firm.
- Ensure every policy undergoes a thorough technical review before delivery, maintaining strict adherence to turnaround times (TAT).
- Account Management & Growth
- Act as a senior liaison between corporate clients and insurance companies for regional accounts.
- Implement systems to regularly identify and capture cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within the portfolio.
- Review detailed analysis of claims data and loss ratios to provide clients with observations for cost containment.
- Team Development & Reporting
- Play a leading role in the daily training and professional development of team members.
- Stay updated on regional insurance market developments and regulatory shifts affecting the EB sector.
- Present periodic overviews of business performance, sales growth, and customer satisfaction to the Board of Directors.
Profile Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in the insurance field, specifically in Medical/Employee Benefits, with a high preference for brokerage experience.
- Management: Proven track record in administration, team leadership, and high-level client relationship management.
- Languages: Excellent command of English, Arabic with preferable knowledge of French.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certification: Advanced insurance certifications (e.g., CII) are highly preferable.
