Reports to: Accounting Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant to join our Finance and Operations department on a maternity cover basis. The selected candidate will play a critical role in supporting management accounting processes and acting as a key liaison for Middle East (ME) accounting transactions. This includes coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing telecommunications data, and overseeing fixed asset bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record bank and petty cash accounting entries in the financial systems.

  • Serve as the point of contact for all stakeholders regarding ME accounting matters, including Finance, BOMs, Tax, Statutory, and Payment teams.

  • Collaborate with BOMs and Accounts Payable teams to validate job ledger expenses and coordinate expense transfers.

  • Prepare project multiplier transactions and coordinate with the Accounts Receivable team and BOMs for validation.

  • Manage the ME telecommunications booking process, analyze staff usage dashboards, identify anomalies, and provide timely feedback to the Accounting Manager.

  • Communicate with staff to resolve exceptions in telecom data and follow up to ensure closure.

  • Maintain and update the fixed assets register, including capitalization of assets and monthly depreciation calculations.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (preferred).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Client service mindset with effective communication abilities.
