BI Engineering Associate
About the job BI Engineering Associate
Our client is a leading global consulting firm, helping the world's top businesses, governments and organizations. Looking for a new "BI Engineering Associate " covering Middle East region.
Primary duties and responsibilities
- Design and plan data analytics solutions
- Create automated/visual interfaces (e.g. Power BI) updated in real-time to increase transparency, aid in decision-making, and enhance client deliverables
- Write relational and multidimensional database queries
- Extract, transform, and load data from multiple data sources.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain database servers
- Ensure that the architectural principles and standards are maintained.
- Provide the best practices and guidelines for managing data of different levels of complexity.
- Provide hands-on support for all Data related activities within the Enterprise Data Team.
- Debug, monitor, and troubleshoot BI solutions
Skills, and abilities
- Data Architecture / Data Modelling experience (Kimball methodology is preferred).
- EDM / Data Modelling, including use of EA Sparx
- Strong SQL skills, ability to code and mine data
- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, PowerPivot and Powerapps, Power Automate and SharePoint.
- In-depth experience with the Microsoft Azure platform. Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL and DataBricks
- Experience with SQL Server technology stack, database design and programming
- Able to deliver a broad range of data engagements in areas such as Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Analytics, Data Lineage, Data Governance, Data Quality and BI Reporting
- Use of data profiling tools, ETL and data management tools (SSIS and SSAS experience is a must)
- Knowledge of Master Data Management solutions
- Understand data analysis techniques and how they can be applied in the marketing context
- Experience in data interpretation
- Self-starter and motivator with the ability to work in an autonomous fast fast-paced environment
- The ability to quickly learn and understand new business environments
- The ability to achieve high-quality results by paying attention to detail
- A proactive, can do attitude
- The ability to work on multiple tasks/projects, work under pressure and meet agreed deadlines

Desirable Skills
- Experience in working with a range of data tools for example SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, Visual Studio, Ab
- Initio, Informatica, DataFlux, Datanomic, Trillium, Teradata, IBM InfoSphere DataStage SQL,
- Access/Excel, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc..
- Experience leading technical teams across multiple physical locations
