The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Smart Infrastructure Solutions will lead growth initiatives in asset management, traffic management, security management, and edge data center deployment. The role centers on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Drones to transform traditional infrastructure systems into intelligent, connected, and automated ecosystems.

The BDM will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing market strategies, managing customer and partner relationships, coordinating solution design with technical teams, and achieving targeted revenue growth. This position requires a strategic thinker who can bridge technology innovation with commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Development

  • Formulate and execute strategic business plans to expand the company's presence in smart infrastructure markets (e.g., smart cities, industrial automation, transport, logistics, utilities, and defense).
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in asset lifecycle management, traffic optimization, security monitoring, and data center edge deployments.
  • Develop and maintain a Five-year growth roadmap aligned with company objectives and emerging technology trends.
  • Conduct competitive and market intelligence to identify gaps, pricing structures, and partnership opportunities.

2. Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in government, enterprise, and technology sectors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from proposal to contract execution.
  • Lead business meetings, presentations, and demonstrations of AI-, IoT-, and drone-enabled solutions.
  • Support customer success initiatives by ensuring smooth handover to delivery and technical teams after deal closure.
  • Develop and nurture long-term strategic alliances with OEMs, IoT platform providers, drone manufacturers, and telecom operators.
  • Identify and engage potential partners in the areas of asset lifecycle management, traffic optimization, security monitoring, and data center edge deployments, and establish strategic agreements to foster collaboration and growth.

3. Solution Design Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and project management teams to translate customer needs into tailored technical solutions.
  • Work on proposals involving:
  • IoT-based asset tracking systems (sensors, gateways, connectivity platforms).
  • AI-driven traffic management (computer vision, predictive analytics, adaptive signaling).
  • Drone-based surveillance and inspection (autonomous monitoring, thermal imaging, GIS mapping).
  • Edge data center deployment for real-time analytics, storage, and AI inference.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot deployment design, ensuring that the commercial model supports scalability and profitability.

4. Revenue Growth

  • Prepare cost-benefit studies for proposed opportunities.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Achieve assigned revenue, profit margin, and pipeline development targets.

5. Marketing

  • Represent the company at conferences, expos, and industry forums related to smart cities, AI, IoT, drones, and edge computing.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to position the brand as a leading provider of integrated AI and IoT-based infrastructure solutions.

6. Compliance, Quality, and Governance

  • Ensure all solutions comply with data protection, cybersecurity, and aviation/drone regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, contracts, and pipeline data in CRM systems.

7. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within technology or smart infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven record of closing multimillion- deals or developing strategic partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of AI/IoT ecosystems, smart city frameworks, security/surveillance systems, and data center infrastructure.
  • Ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

8. Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in IoT Solution Design, AI for Business, or Drone Operations.
  • Experience working with public sector tenders.
  • Background in technology integration, systems architecture, or software platforms for real-time analytics.
