Summary of Position
The Line Manager leads fries and tallow production facility in SAIF Zone, overseeing all operations, assets, and staff to ensure safety, efficiency, and product excellence. The role is accountable for operational performance across production, maintenance, and quality while ensuring compliance with global food safety and HSE standards. This leader drives continuous improvement, cost optimization, and innovation while aligning plant performance with
strategic objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Production Management
Lead daily operations from raw potato intake through cutting, frying, freezing, and packaging.
Execute production schedules aligned with demand and capacity plans.
Monitor process parameters (temperature, oil quality, cycle time) to maintain consistency.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Maintenance to minimize downtime.
Quality & Food Safety
Implement and maintain HACCP and ISO 22000 systems across all processes.
Oversee product testing, quality audits, and corrective actions.
Maintain full traceability from raw materials to finished goods.
Prepare for and manage regulatory and client audits.
Cost & Budget Control
Develop and manage annual production budgets in coordination with Finance.
Track and optimize costs of raw materials, utilities, and labor.
Drive yield improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
Lead cost-saving and process-improvement programs.
Maintenance & Asset Reliability
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all machinery.
Ensure uptime and efficiency of utilities (steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water treatment).
Maintain spare-parts stock and coordinate with OEMs for technical support.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce HSE policies and ensure full regulatory compliance.
Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety audits.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
People Leadership & Development
Lead, train, and evaluate production teams to achieve performance goals.
Conduct performance reviews and set development plans.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Implement Lean and Kaizen initiatives to enhance productivity.
Introduce automation and process upgrades where feasible.
Support trials for new products and production methods with R&D.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (Masters preferred).
710 years of progressive experience in food or FMCG manufacturing, including 35 years in leadership.
Experience in frozen food, potato processing, or tallow production (French fries expertise highly preferred).
Proven record in production planning, cost control, and facility setup.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, and HSE standards.
Technical Skills
Expertise with food-processing equipment (washers, cutters, fryers, freezers, packagers)
Proficiency in ERP/MES systems and production KPI dashboards
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and CI tools
Maintenance planning and asset reliability management
