Job Summary:
The Facility Construction / Carpentry Operations Engineer is responsible for performing skilled carpentry, construction, and structural maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of facility infrastructure. This role involves repairing, renovating, and improving buildings, interpreting construction plans, and collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to support both routine and specialized facility projects. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about modern construction methods, tools, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform carpentry and construction tasks, including framing, cabinetry, flooring, wall repair, door and window installation, and fixture maintenance.

  • Conduct structural repairs to facility components to ensure integrity and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

  • Assist with renovation, remodeling, and improvement projects, providing technical expertise and craftsmanship.

  • Read, interpret, and execute work orders, blueprints, and construction drawings accurately.

  • Maintain construction tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition; ensure proper storage and inventory management.

  • Implement safe work practices, including adherence to OSHA standards and facility-specific safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with facility management, maintenance teams, and external contractors to complete projects efficiently and to specification.

  • Perform inspections of completed work to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.

  • Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimize downtime and disruption to facility operations.

  • Document completed work and maintain accurate records of maintenance and construction activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in carpentry, construction, facility maintenance, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.

  • Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Physical stamina and dexterity are required for manual labor and working in various environmental conditions.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate projects and document work.

  • Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., OSHA safety, carpentry, or construction) are a plus.
