Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant (PA) provides high-quality medical care to public safety personnel and staff under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role involves conducting medical evaluations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, performing clinical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. The PA ensures compliance with applicable medical regulations and standards while promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical evaluations of staff and public safety personnel.

Diagnose and provide treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions within the PAs scope of practice.

Administer medications, immunizations, and other therapeutic interventions as authorized.

Assist physicians during clinical procedures and medical interventions, including minor surgical procedures when required.

Develop and maintain individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment as needed.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Provide patient education regarding preventive care, wellness, and occupational health risks.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Ensure adherence to all medical, safety, and professional standards, including state and federal regulations governing PA practice.

Participate in occupational health programs, emergency medical response, and public health initiatives as required.

Stay current with advances in medical practices, treatments, and regulatory requirements relevant to the PA role.
Qualifications:

Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Maryland.

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Clinical experience in primary care, occupational health, emergency medicine, or related fields preferred.

Knowledge of medical evaluation techniques, diagnostic procedures, and treatment protocols.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, staff, and healthcare teams.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information professionally.
