Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team supporting a high-profile public sector client. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and resilient network systems that support 24/7 operational readiness. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in next-generation firewalls, secure network architecture, and enterprise networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement secure network infrastructure tailored to organizational needs.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot security appliances and software.

Document network designs, architecture diagrams, and project plans.

Provide Tier III support and threat remediation.

Lead or support migration to next-gen security platforms.

Collaborate across teams to maintain network security posture.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and packet/protocol analysis.
-
Support capacity planning, monitoring, and policy enforcement.
Required Qualifications
-
Associate's degree in IT or related field.
-
Active PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
-
Active CCNP Enterprise or Security certification.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
-
10+ years of U.S.-based experience in network and cybersecurity.

Active PCCSE (Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer).

Active CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure or Security).
Technical Requirements
Minimum Experience With:

Palo Alto NGFWs (5+ years)

IDS/IPS, Content Filtering, VPN, TLS/SSL inspection

Cisco routing, switching, and wireless (4+ years)
-
A10 load balancers and reverse proxies (3+ years)

Network Access Control, Cisco ISE, FreeRadius, ACLs (2+ years)

Cloud-based security, Microsoft MFA, PKI, 802.1x, EIGRP/OSPF/BGP
-
Nessus, NMAP, Wireshark, Panorama, SolarWinds
-
Windows, Linux, and Unix systems
Soft Skills

Strong troubleshooting and mentoring capabilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Schedule

Initial Schedule: 3 days on-site in Annapolis, MD / 2 days remote

Potential Adjustment: 2 days on-site / 3 days remote after 6 months (based on performance and client approval)

Must be available for on-site support within 4 hours if needed

Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM ET, with flexibility for evenings/weekends/on-call as required

Remote work must be U.S.-based
