Network Engineer / Telecom Specialist – Contract (Raleigh, NC)

Design, run and protect the networks that connect North Carolina's state agencies.

Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of network engineers and network/telecom specialists for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area and statewide. Assignments typically run 6–12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).

Pay & Schedule

• $38 – $47 per hour, based on experience and skill level
• Full-time, about 40 hours per week; some after-hours change windows
• Contract assignment; W-2 hourly employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC
• Direct deposit

What You'll Do

• Install, configure and administer routers, switches, firewalls and wireless equipment
• Support LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN and server/network infrastructure
• Install and troubleshoot cabling and telephony/voice and data systems
• Monitor performance, plan capacity and manage faults and outages
• Carry out disaster recovery, backup and archiving procedures
• Keep network diagrams and documentation current

What You Need

• 1–3+ years of network or telecom engineering experience (Mid-Level 3–5 years, Senior 5–7, Expert 7+)
• Hands-on Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto or Fortinet equipment
• Strong routing, switching, VLAN and troubleshooting skills
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; able to pass a background check
• Valid driver's license for site visits, if the assignment requires

Great Fit If You Have

• CCNA, CCNP, Network+ or vendor firewall certifications
• VoIP/unified communications experience
• State or local government network experience
